First and foremost, I want to thank the NHHIMA members and Board for the privilege of serving you over the course of the last nine years. As your Past President, I will continue to advocate for our Component State Association (CSA) within the framework AHIMA has provided. I thought this is an appropriate time to reflect and offer you highlights of what NHHIMA, as a professional association, has been doing on behalf of our membership.
During the past two years the AHIMA framework has allowed me to participate in interactive, online, training webinars. Information I learned has resulted in the choices the Board made regarding NHHIMA strategic initiatives. Just a few examples include realization that our association needed to file legal paperwork with the IRS as well as the State of New Hampshire in order to be recognized as a non-profit organization. The fact that I can communicate via our NHHIMA.org website is another example of lessons learned from other CSA’s, and networking resulted in our ability to offer ICD-10 coding workshops led by the best in the business of coding instructors, Lynn Kuehn and Gail Smith.
Our Education and Program Director, Mary Beth York, will soon be announcing the next ICD-10 based workshop, also featuring Lynn Kuehn and Gail Smith, as we continue on our quest for coding excellence.
Please check out the new NHHIMA Board listing now posted on this website, and be assured that we are here to serve and want to know what is important to you as we plan our programs and activities for 2015-2016.
